Steve from oop north in the UK, 'm a lifelong WIS, who has followed the herd and gone through a gazillion watches, to my current small collection, which can be seen below:

Rolex WG Sky-Dweller

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver

Jaeger Le-Coultre Deep Sea Chrono

I genuinely love them all and albeit I do have others, these three are my current daily rotation. The Sky-Dweller occupies the most wrist time and has done for close to three years. The AP is my weekend attire and the JLC comes out when I have something rough and tumble to do (which isn't often).

I'm probably going to let the JLC go due to the concerns over water resistance, hoping to replace it with a diver from the same manufacturer. I shouldn't, as it's discontinued and I do enjoy it, but also, the AP may soon also depart, as a friend has it earmarked for his own wrist.

After so many years and considering the time the Sky-Dweller spends on the wrist, I feel happier with less £££'s tied up, whilst still having an option to change what is on the wrist.

I don't wish to bore the pants off you all, with a long winded post, just wanted to get a mark on the post board...

Hope you will enjoy our community. Question: Why do you use your JLC for the ‘rougher’ times instead of your Rolex? To me theRolex would be the must sturdy choice. But that is based upon a feeling and not data.

Just value I guess, but when I say 'rougher' I don't really do anything manual - more if I go on a motorbike trip for example. The Rolex is White Gold and on alligator, whilst the JLC steel on kevlar - I won't be scared away from wearing a watch for anything, but in my opinion, you should be sensible, just as I wouldn't wear any vintage watch for the same purpose. And thanks all - great welcome!
