The problem is that the thieves are now targeting the "middle class" with Rolex and not just the upper class. Walnut Creek is an upper middle class enclave, the town even had its own Neiman Marcus department store at one time. In Walnut Creek, the most popular watches are Apple Watches, Rolexes, Cartiers, and Omegas (I guess that's probably true in a lot of upper middle class cities). Everyone can soon become a target. If it ever got to the point where I can only wear my watches in my house and not outside for fear of theft. I would rather just sell all of them and be done with it as the enjoyment factor would get reduced to nothing. I'm just not there yet and it would take something pretty cataclysmic for that to happen.
