Nothing earth shattering but nice to see a novice realize that not everybody straps on a watch to show off but for the enjoyment and pleasure it provides them. For me that is what the spirit of this forum is about "Sharing" vs Show off.

Good post. Thanks for sharing I often find watches are a bit like a Masonic handshake (the only one who notice are already part of the tribe). Personally I find wearing a quirky watch (doesn't have to be expensive but needs to be of good quality and be distinctive) tends to lure watch nerds/enthusiasts to self identify themselves to me At a party, business meeting, boring birthday events, etc (On the bright side, I got a great discount from an electrician who came to my house to give a quote by

The secret handshake is the way I always looks at it.

But a lot of times they person on the other side does not respond to the handshake which can be disappointing. It is just a watch to them not a passion.
