India Whiskey Charlie's post brings to the forefront a perennial debate within the watch community: are brand loyalists overly forgiving of design imperfections? By sharing a provocative article from Fratello Watches, India Whiskey Charlie invites WatchProSite members to critically examine the notion of 'design flaws' in Rolex timepieces, prompting a robust discussion on subjectivity, manufacturing realities, and consumer perception.
Most of the customers are excited and caught by the value. That's all they really matter. Design, watchmaking, precision, finishing, these are just extra features. Mostly unknown. Rolex has been my first watch, but I've moved away long ago
I didn't see the article mention what you're addressing. I'm now wondering if we read the same article...
Not at all. They're a feature, used by fans to identify different batches in order to have a more valuable and rare product. This is what I read if I read a bit deeper, the article is just a subjective and boring list 😅
The article is highly subjective! And yes, those flaws are definitely very minor and very subjective.
Someone please hit me with the cliff notes version. 😁
