A few nights ago I took a trip down memory lane and watched many of the classic Gn'R videos on Youtube. To my surprise, I noticed Axl donning a Breitling Aerospace. For one thing, I never figured Axl to be a quartz guy... knowing how notorious he was for taking stage sometimes 2 or 3 hours past schedule, the accuracy of quartz couldn't have been too vital. Also a little surprised by the selection as I'm not sure that the Aerospace fit into his personal Rockstar aesthetic. Conversely, anyone who partied as hard as those guys might come to appreciate the hardiness of a Quartz movement... I bet you that's what he was thinking wink

So the question I pose to you is this, what are the best Celebrity/Timepiece pairings? In my view, Karl Lagerfeld (a fashion rockstar) and his AP RO PVD instantly comes to mind as a match made in horological heaven.  Who do you have?

Not only did I catch three of their fours shows when they opened for the Stones . . .

. . . at the Los Angeles Coliseum back in '89, but ran into both Slash and Axel several timws at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. (Curiously, they were never there together - one night it would be Slash, the next, Axel.) Axel fell over at one point during that show. Maybe that's why he wore quartz. ;-)

Good times!

If you haven't read the Slash autobiography, I highly recommend it. Once you are finished, go read "Dirt" which is the autobiography for Motley Crue. I was never much of a Crue fan but the book is absolutely insane. The Slash book is great, but if you read Dirt first, Slash will put you to sleep. Those guys partied so so hard.

MC, Motorhead, Dokken - they all hung out . . .

. . . at the Rainbow. Got to meet several including Slash and Entwistle; acquainted with Randy Castillo, a truly nice guy. Those were the days, indeed . . .

+1 ...The Dirt is a wild book. Crazy time to be a rock star in LA. [nt]

Next to KL wearing the AP RO 5402 A- 12xx, I think this guy has lots of style.....

Mark Knopfler with a Heuer Autavia „Joe Siffert“… … and more recently with his Lemania MoD single pusher

Hell yeah!

No way those are watches he just picked up somewhere, you know he's a collector. I love that Lemania.
