I am very new to the RM brand but thanks to a fellow Purist in Singapore, I am starting to want to learn more about the brand and its offerings. Although I am mainly a classical watch collector, I must admit that the innovations conceptualized and developed by RM from the use of interesting materials to their very robustly constructed movements and case are very impressive.
As a newbie to RM, I walked into the RM booth at W&W and took some photos of their latest watches to share.

About the Richard Mille Ref. RM051
The Richard Mille RM 51-02 Tourbillon Diamond Twister is a high jewelry tourbillon model distinguished by its elaborate dial design. The aesthetic is inspired by the swirling form of a twisting spiral, a shape found in various natural organic forms. The design features a spray of diamonds emanating outwards in 14 rays from the tourbillon escapement at 6 o'clock, evoking the appearance of a spiraling vortex or patterns of organic growth. This reference emphasizes artistic expression through its intricate gem-setting and movement architecture.
The manual winding tourbillon movement features a baseplate crafted from Black Onyx, a variety of cryptocrystalline quartz chalcedony. The movement incorporates a free sprung balance and skeletonized bridges made of PVD treated grade 5 titanium. Various hand finishing techniques, including anglage and black polish, are applied throughout the movement. An additional security system is integrated into the torque limiting crown to prevent overwinding and potential damage to the winding stem.
This reference appeals to collectors seeking a high jewelry timepiece that combines horological complexity with artistic design and precious materials. The RM 51-02 Tourbillon Diamond Twister represents a segment of Richard Mille's production focused on elaborate gem-setting and unique aesthetic themes, distinct from their more sports-oriented or technical models.
