Mark in Paris introduces the Richard Mille RM035 Ultimate Edition, a limited release celebrating French skier Alexis Pinturault's achievements. This post highlights the watch's construction from Carbon TPT, emphasizing its lightweight and shock-resistant properties, which are crucial for high-performance sports. Mark also explores the RM035's place within the broader Richard Mille collection, inviting readers to consider its design and technical merits.

Hi everyone,

Maybe that people enjoying skiing sports have followed our French fellow Alexis Pinturault recently, but he has made very good!

As followed by Richard Mille for a while now, his performance has been an excellent occasion to be celebrated by a limited edition. You know the RM027 Rafael Nadal, RM038 Bubba Watson and the RM035 are very light and shock resistant watches developped throughout very demanding sports. Hence, I think the RM035, with its weight and resistance is the perfect choice of this event.

You can see on the picture that the watch is made of full Carbon TPT case and remains discreet with a slight touch of red here and there. Nearly perfect to me.

I couldn't find the dimensions: is it the original smaller dimension (first RM035 in Aluminum and Magnesium alloy) or the RM035-01 NTPT Carbon's (which is slighly bigger)? We'll see.

From RM, we learn a little more about his performance lately as he reached the champhion Jean-Claude Killy's number of victories by achieving a 19th World Cup win in the Giant on the slopes of Adelboden, Switzerland and 3 in Giant this season.

The watch will be available around March 2017 in RM boutiques (all over the world thus not reserved to a specific region).

Congratulations Alexis for his performance and Richard Mille for this great choice!

How do you find it?

Best, Mark

About the Richard Mille Tourbillon Rafael Nadal Ref. RM027

The RM027 represents Richard Mille's Tourbillon Rafael Nadal model, produced from 2010 to 2012. This reference belongs to the RM 027 series and features a manual-wind tourbillon movement in a lightweight carbon construction.

The 39mm case is constructed from NTPT Carbon with a fixed bezel and sapphire crystal. The skeletonized dial reveals the manual-wind RM027 caliber, which provides a 70-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, and the watch is fitted with a rubber strap.

This reference appeals to collectors focused on Richard Mille's technical approach to lightweight materials and tourbillon complications. The NTPT Carbon case construction and three-year production window from 2010-2012 position this as a specific iteration within the broader RM027 series, combining the brand's material innovations with traditional tourbillon watchmaking.

I like the material, I'm disappointed they put a 035 in a, well best way to describe, is a older 011 case design. Not for me, but I'm sure it will sell out to the skiers of the world.

The placement and chronology in the 035 family. There as the original, and the 035-01 which introduced the new case shape and material.. followed by the 035-02 which brought with it the exotic materials in colour variations, skeletonization and automatic movement. Now this version, which appears to mirror the original 035 in tonneau shape and manual movement, but with the new material and no sapphire caseback (like the Americas 035 had). A bit too similar to the 055 LE with the carbon TPT for me

The 35-01 and -02 all follow the RM11 number of screws So as the 55s and the 30

as it has to remain shock resistant. RM watchmakers and designers know their job for sure. The weight of those watches is a part of why they are so comfortable, in addition to the caseback's shape of course Best, Mark
