Mark in Paris offers an exclusive look inside "Monographie 1," a definitive book on Richard Mille timepieces. His initial impressions highlight the book's quality and its deep dive into the brand's philosophy, high-tech materials, and manufacturing expertise, making it a valuable resource for enthusiasts.
Hi folks,
I've just received the book and started reading it with great delight as you can imagine.
Very nice cover mate material
Thick and heavy, very nice finish
It's a reading I recommend if you are an amateur of Richard Mille's timepieces, their philosophy, there aesthetics uniqueness and, above all, the high-tech materials and know-how RM masters today.
It is introduced by different people from RM (included the technical director and our friend on PuristS, Theodore).
The clever introduction articles shade light over the overall process from conception to manufacturing, letting us know where and why some steps are much more difficult to overcome than we think from outside.

The main part of the Monographie1 gathers all the watches currently available for sale, from the RM002 to the SiHH 2013 novelties.

Many additionnal pictures where added from what I already knew, many different versions where also included (not exhaustive).
RM004
RM039 6B back view
You may even find the Planetarium-Tellurium as the Clock offered to Quebec for its 400th anniversary.

About the Richard Mille Ref. RM039
The Richard Mille RM039 Aviation E6-B Tourbillon Flyback Chronograph is a highly complex instrument designed for professional pilots, integrating a functional E6-B slide rule into its bezel. This model underscores Richard Mille's dedication to creating advanced timekeeping tools that push the boundaries of horological engineering, blending traditional aviation codes with high-end watchmaking.
Its manual-winding caliber RM039 comprises 750 components and 58 jewels, featuring hours, minutes, small seconds, an oversized date, flyback chronograph with central minutes and seconds, UTC, countdown, function selector, and power-reserve indicator. The movement measures 38.95 mm in diameter and 7.95 mm in thickness. The case, made of over 200 parts, is operated by no less than six push-pieces, reflecting the watch's extensive functionality.
This reference stands out for its extreme technical complexity and the rigorous optimization process undertaken to ensure the movement's longevity and the precise operation of its numerous functions. The integration of a fully functional E6-B slide rule on the bezel allows for on-the-fly calculations essential for flight navigation, making it a distinctive piece for collectors interested in aviation-inspired complications.
