In this captivating post, bimbeano shares his appreciation for the Renaultsport Twingo 133, a car he describes as a 'young enthusiast's dream.' His detailed observations of a well-maintained example encountered during a French holiday provide a vivid portrait of this hot hatch. The subsequent discussion reveals bimbeano's personal ownership experience and the significant modifications he has made to his own Twingo 133.

Powered by a 1.6-16valve NA engine with 133 hp this little 1000 kilo car must be fun to drive.
I have sadly never had the opportunity to try one out, maybe for the best ;-).

The details on this little car are sweet.
Widened wheel arches.
17 inch wheels with 205/45 tires.
The grey roofspoiler.
The big Renaultsport-style stickers on the sides and rear bumper.
The grey finishing in the front bumper.
Partly grey mirrors.
A very nice car for a young enthusiast or a working-class man like myself soon ;-)

The driver/owner of this particular example was a man around my (older) age and as you can see by certain details (steering lock and folded mirror ) he really takes care of it. Maybe he's even crazier than the Bim and has a barn filled with Renaultsports somewhere .. hmmmmm.

Time to move on and leave our cheap sidewalk B&B under the bridge and have one last look at the Loire river ...

Heading south !
To be continued ...

And great little car. I came close multiple times to getting the Clio RS 200, the yellow paint is probably my favorite!

Took mine out for a small warm-up, currently without plates but next year it will be put back into traffic. I'd rather sell my soul than this car.

I went back to RWD but given the space I'd put a sharp FWD hot hatch in the stable before anything else.

Small but funky ... and a lot more fun than the Smart

After fitting a KW V1 suspension, a Quaife LSD, 19 mm spacers on each side and better tires (Pilot Sport 5) it's bonkers sharp for street-use. On the track a set of sticky semi-slicks would be perfect. The added cold-air intake and ECU-upgrade contribute to a much quicker throttle response as well. Very sharp but still possible to drive it as a daily if necessary.
