ThomasM celebrates the enduring sense of community within PuristSPro and Watchprosite, highlighting how members connect globally over their shared passion for watches. His post, featuring a Los Angeles gathering with a visiting Hong Kong Purist, underscores the unique camaraderie and tradition of GTGs (Get-Togethers) that predate modern social media. This article captures the essence of what makes these platforms special for watch enthusiasts worldwide.

Is the sense of community - that a Purist can travel to almost anywhere in the world (and maybe beyond lol) and have some local PuristS share some watch love, local knowledge, and great food and drink.

We've been doing this since before the Millennium and even with the proliferation of "social media" (lol we've been doing social media since before it was CALLED social media) and a bunch of newbie groups with no sense of history thinking they invented GTG's (lol they might think they invented wearing padding on bare feet and maybe strapping on time telling devices on the wrist made of metal gears and springs too lol)

I still think PuristS do GTG's in a special way and style yet to be found anywhere else...

A fellow Purist from Hong Kong is visiting Los Angeles, the motherland of Original PuristS, and local SoCal PuristS roll out the red carpet and bring some big guns on the wrist to share, along with great wine and food, in true PuristS' fashion.
5 hours + and not a dull moment...
Some teaser pics; more to come (GL, CK, MK please feel free to chip in!)

Cheers,

TM

Oh, my...a classic with a classic icon...

Yep...PuristS will be PuristS... Who says men's watches don't look good on a lady's wrist?

I wonder which inspired which? The bar of A5 Japanese wagyu or the Reverso?

Can't wait for my first PuristS GTG

They always seem very enjoyable. I guess that interesting watches means interesting people!

I will second that!

Thankfully, the interesting watches and people correlation has been strong with the PuristS. Actually there was a conversation that evening about interesting watches on people...who should not have them. -We are still drafting the rules and regulations for confiscation of such pieces.
