TheMadDruid recounts a memorable first meeting with fellow PuristS Willis (Willski) and Joe (Joepny) in New York City, transforming online friendships into real-world connections. This post captures the essence of community, highlighting the joy of shared horological passion over good food and conversation. It showcases the impressive timepieces brought to the gathering, including a Montblanc 1858 Chrono and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre.

and this happens.

This was the first any of us met. Forum friends now in reality. The food was good but the conversations were wonderful.

Willis and Joe (Willski and Joepny)

Willis's 1858 Chrono-a beauty as everyone here knows.

Joe's Duometre.

This was the first time I'd seen a Duometre in the metal. Gorgeous dial and movement.

Will and Joe-this was a blast. I hope we can do it again soon.
Cheers!

From the table shot you'd think more were there!

But then again, with Purists... J

this was my first GTG and it was great to get to know Padj and Willski

It was a very enjoyable 3 hrs of food & talk with these two guys! As for the watches, a privilege to handle all the pieces. The ALS PC Rattrapante is so impressive in real life. And seeing the MB 1858 Chrono in the metal for the first time confirms its beloved status with Purists. Oh yeah, the Richard Lange PLM is like the cool customer in the corner of the bar minding his own business and confidently packing some really serious heat -- the fusee-chain in action is marvelous.
