His detailed account of the test drive highlights the SUV's luxurious interior, aggressive performance, and surprising driving dynamics. This article explores community reactions and further insights into what makes the Cayenne GTS stand out.

I remember seeing Ming's Post about the Porsche Cayenne and being intrigued:

I finally test drove the Cayenne GTS today, before I share my experience I have to say I liked Porsches, always thought they were nice and loved the look of the older Porsche Turbos (930, 964 3.0 and 993) and some of their racing/rally cars from the 70s and 80s but would I have bought one? Not really.

I admired them, but not enough to buy one that is until now, the quality of the interiors, the paintwork has reached another level, it just can't be ignored, we're talking the quality of the leather, carbon fibre, seating position and feel are dare I say the best you can get, maybe I'm exaggerating or I just don't know anymore but it feels crazy even thinking it but we're talking Bentley Level of luxury and feel in the interior, there, I said it. And the aggressive responsiveness in Sport Mode, I mean Oh God, the sound of the engine, how can a SUV feel like an exotic and sound like one and drive like one? How can the GTS be way better in terms of luxurious interior, sound of the engine and overall fun factor than the Cayenne Turbo? How can this be an SUV?

If you get the chance definitely try it out and tell me if I'm right or not because for me, forget the G Class AMGs and Range Rovers and all that, the Cayenne GTS is the best SUV in the world.

About the Porsche Ref. 930

The Porsche Design Chronograph 01, often associated with the reference 930, was a significant product for the brand, marking its entry into watchmaking. It was conceived with a focus on legibility and functional design, drawing parallels with automotive instrumentation. The watch aimed to provide a tool-like experience, prioritizing user interaction and clarity over traditional decorative elements, distinguishing it from many contemporaries. Its design language reflected a modernist approach, emphasizing clean lines and a monochromatic aesthetic.

This chronograph features a case constructed from black PVD-coated stainless steel, a material choice that was innovative for its time and contributed to its distinctive appearance. The case diameter measures 40mm, providing a substantial presence on the wrist without being overly large. It houses an automatic movement, specifically the Valjoux 7750, known for its robust performance and chronograph functionality. The crystal protecting the dial is mineral glass, and the watch offers a power reserve of approximately 44 hours.

For collectors, the Porsche Design Chronograph 01 holds relevance as an early example of a design-driven watch from a non-traditional watch manufacturer. Its connection to Ferdinand Alexander Porsche's design philosophy is a key aspect of its appeal. The watch is appreciated for its functional aesthetic and its pioneering use of black-coated cases, influencing subsequent watch designs. It represents a period where industrial design principles were increasingly applied to wristwatches, offering a distinct alternative to more conventional offerings.

and I am amazed every day. The air suspension (optional here) is fantastic and the seats are next to none. Even we like in a cold climate country, I took the ventilated seats. Porsche Cayanne gives a lot of pleasure every day! Best, Kari

I know the first models were supposed to be very good off road with a low range transfer box and a system similar to the range rover all terrain system. I think the wheels and low profile tyres will limit it, but if it is as good off road as a range rover it truly will be the purists SUV. G

Hi Graham, I separate my SUVs and Proper Offroaders, Proper Offroaders would be the G300 Professional Diesel, the 70 Series Toyota Land Cruiser and the Land Rover Defender which are the in my opinion the best cars use offroad into the wild. SUVs are perfect for those parts of the world where the infrastructure is deteriorating, in the process of being rebuilt or has a mixture of urban and gentle offtrack/no asphalt driving and have to contend with random potholes, construction diversions, missin

It monitors the speed of the car in front of you and charges up the break if there is a mismatch in speeds and helps you break sooner, pretty cool :-) S
