MTF's inquiry into the public perception of Piaget, contrasting its reputation for ladies' jewel-set quartz watches with its heritage in men's mechanical timepieces, provides a fascinating look into brand identity. This post invites PuristS to weigh in on Piaget's true horological standing, revealing insights into its historical contributions and modern production focus.

Dear forumners,

PIAGET Boutique Mystery Location 1

PIAGET Boutique Mystery Location 2   (security guard is NOT waving at me smile  )

Recently, I overheard two different people describe PIAGET with diammetrically opposite statements.

1) PIAGET makes mainly ladies' jewel-set and quartz movement watches.

2) Most of PIAGET timepieces are mens' mechanical movement non-bling watches.

Which do you FEEL is the truth?

Hmmm this is a great question indeed MTF

1) PIAGET makes mainly ladies' jewel-set and quartz movement watches. OR 2) Most of PIAGET timepieces are mens' mechanical movement non-bling watches. My opinion is, for the most part, people who are not familiar with horology will probably agree with above point 1). And the same with 99% of the John Does you ask on the street. Why do I believe this? Because if you walk into an official Piaget Boutique, you will see a lot of jewelry and blinged out watches in the display cases. Piaget Boutiques
