AnthonyTsai's report from 2013 highlights Piaget's 'Couture Précieuse' collection debut in Palm Beach, an event that seamlessly blended high jewelry with the brand's deep-rooted polo sponsorship. This post offers a glimpse into Piaget's strategy of intertwining luxury lifestyle events with product launches, showcasing how the brand positioned its exquisite jewelry and timepieces within an exclusive social context.

Palm Beach, FL – (March 26, 2013) – In celebration of the final match of the sixth annual Piaget Gold Cup tournament on Sunday, Piaget hosted an exclusive champagne reception at the International Polo Club, Palm Beach to introduce its  Couture Précieuse collection of high jewelry. Valiente Defeats Zacara To Win USPA Piaget Gold Cup

Crafted in 18k white gold and accented with diamonds, pearls and precious gemstones, Piaget's newest collection features elegant motifs such as fans, ribbons and embroidery details taken from the Haute Couture. Along with the high jewelry, the House displayed a selection of its latest timepieces including the Altiplano 43mm—the world's slimmest automatic watch, the new Gouverneur and two striking black-on-black Piaget Polo FortyFive models in ADLC-treated titanium.

Larry Boland, president of Piaget North America, hosted the afternoon's festivities and was joined by Alain Riguidel, brand director of Piaget Latin America, Piaget polo ambassador, Jeff Hall, and his wife, Michelle Hall, along with polo champions Nic Roldan and Juan Bollini. Arriving fresh off the field from her victory over ERG in the Butler Handicap, was Piaget polo team captain Melissa Ganzi, accompanied by her husband Marc.

Following the reception, guests were treated to the final match of the USPA Piaget Gold Cup tournament between Valiente and Zacara. It was a heated competition amongst some of the world's best polo players, including 10-goalers, Adolfo Cambiaso and Pelon Stirling from Valiente and Facundo Pieres from Zacara. Ultimately, Valiente triumphed and defended their title with a 13 to 9 win. Larry Boland presented the highly sought-after Piaget Gold Cup to the match's Most Valuable Player, Santi Torres, who scored a total of 7 goals. Pelon Stirling's 10-year old brown mare, Silk, was named Best Playing Pony. Members of the winning team were also presented with their very own Polo FortyFive timepiece.

First played in Palm Beach back in 1974, the prestigious 26-goal tournament quickly became a highlight of the polo season. Piaget's own history with the sport also dates back to the 1970s when Mr. Yves Piaget became a major supporter of polo in Palm Beach. He strongly believed that polo embodied the same attributes as his brand: beauty, daring and precision. Piaget has been a principal partner of the International Polo Club Palm Beach since 2006.
