Bill announces the grand prize winner of the Piaget Contest, 'Takman' from Canada, who will embark on an exclusive factory visit to Geneva. This post celebrates the community's engagement with a challenging contest, highlighting the global participation and the emergence of a new generation of watch enthusiasts. The event underscores Piaget's commitment to fostering deeper appreciation for its horological heritage.
Dear Purists
Please accept this late announcement as to the winner of the Piaget Contest. The delay is not due to anything in particular other that the lag in communication between the winner, the brand and our good selves or should I say "good elves" that is what the spell checker suggested.
We had a total number of 69 players with 7 winners(which included moderators who would not be eligible). This was not a contest you just jumped into, you had to do a little work or at least have some prior knowledge so that is why the count is small. So bravo for joining in as you are among the few who risked it all (sounds a bit dramatic).
The last two questions pretty much caught everyone off guard.
Our winner is young mister "Takman" who hails from Canada. He is under 30 so that's why we have said young. I guess we are ushering in a new generation of WIS.
He will be traveling to Geneva for a factory visit which we hope to record in all its glory to share with the entire community.
I also wanted to remove the suspense for all those who participated and let you know that you were in the running to the very end. As such allow me to congratulate the fellow purist who also score 100% on the rather difficult contest.

Thank you for participating. Bill
I should have tried to find the time to play, because I am sure that the trip will be splendid. Best regards? George
Very well done. I look forward to hearing about your adventures at Piaget and your thoughts on watches in general. And while age is irrelevant, it is true that many of our PuristS are getting longer in the tooth. I couldn't be happier if you are just starting your 'carreer' in horology. I know I had to do a little careful reading to answer the questions and learned a few facts along the way, so I hope all who entered the competition enjoyed it and gained a deeper appreciation of Piaget's work. W
Thanks also to Piaget for running the contest. I certainly learned a lot, and gained an a greater appreciation of Piaget's work during the contest. grumio
Have a wonderful trip to Piaget. Can't wait to hear tales of your travels. Cheers, Daos
