About the Rolex Dato-Compax Ref. 6036

The Rolex Dato-Compax reference 6036 represents the brand's entry into complications during the 1950s production era. This 36mm reference forms part of the Dato-Compax series, distinguished by its manual-winding chronograph movement and silver dial configuration.

The watch features a 36mm platinum case fitted with a fixed bezel and acrylic crystal. Water resistance extends to 30 meters. The manual-winding Venus 72C caliber provides the timekeeping foundation, offering a 45-hour power reserve. The silver dial is mounted on a leather strap.

Reference 6036 appeals to collectors focused on mid-20th century Rolex complications and precious metal cases. The platinum case material and Venus movement caliber position this reference within the technical offerings of the Dato-Compax lineup. The manual-winding specification and 1950s production period define its collector segment.

Truth is that after examining the vast majority of the offerings and due to being a work day, so not much crowd, I came to the conclusion that regardless of what collectors, influencers, or any other group might say Patek its above all in terms of quality and horological value compressed in their high complications, specifically the split second chronographs and minute repeaters regardless of one’s taste in design, therefore my absolute favorite has to be the 5531R(last picture) and the 5159P, B

I wouldn't have picked the RM for you either, but I can see the attraction. I see, from an article on Hodinkee, that Ben Clymer has some watches in that Philips sale. The article is worth a read if you haven't seen it already. All the best, Jon
