Rhyzen's original post challenges the notion that manual-wind perpetual calendars are inherently flawed, sparking a rich discussion among collectors. By showcasing a stunning A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Perpetual, Rhyzen invites the WatchProSite community to weigh in on the practicality versus the romance of hand-wound perpetual calendars. This article synthesizes the diverse perspectives, offering valuable insights into a long-standing horological debate.

Read the same article. I guess there’s a “mind” and “heart” to that topic. The “mind” would agree that automatic movement is practical and logical. The “heart” would respond differently. There’s a certain romance with manual winding perpetual calendar watches and that’s where I am leaning too. Can’t take that away and that’s why we are in this hobby.
In the battle between heart and mind, the romance of manually winding won me over as well. Well said indeed!
How may perpetuals do you own and do you wind them every day?
I have two other QPs, and I do wind them everyday as well.
It's so hard to have the best of both worlds.
