Emmanuel, known as quattro on WatchProSite, brings to light two exceptionally rare Patek Philippe tonneau-shaped references, the 2470 and 2469, which have previously gone unmentioned on the platform. His meticulous comparison of their shared case and distinct dial configurations, accompanied by a rich visual archive, offers an invaluable resource for collectors and enthusiasts. This deep dive into such elusive vintage pieces underscores the enduring appeal of Patek Philippe's historical designs and the thrill of horological discovery.
The
Patek Philippe ref.
2470 and
2469 are so rare that they have never even been mentioned on our site.
Both references seem to share the same case but feature different dials:
- Ref. 2470: single 12 numeral, diamond-shaped indexes at 3 & 9, dot indexes elsewhere, baton hands.
- Ref. 2469: 3, 9 & 12 numerals, triangular indexes, dauphine, pear or baton hands.
My personal favorite is the ref. 2470.
