The Patek Philippe Ellipse was the darling of the Jetset community, back in the late 60´s. Filigree and groovy, at the same time!

Two examples to start:

It has been and still is available in a lot of different versions - sizes, colors, with or without bracelet, movements.

First question: Is it still adorable?

Second question: Which one is your favorite version and why?

Third question: Do you have some to share with us?

Looking forward to your replies!

Oliver

A true classic

Best with the blue dial, the perfect shape, I simply like the current model, and will probably get it at some point. Cheers, Stan

However when one was advertised for sale thought I was defnitely going to get buy it- until I realised how small it was and passed. I know the modern re editions are larger but I was really keen on an oriigianl vintage 70's piece- one for the dandy as the PP magazine so aptly writes. So yes in my heart I loved it but practically it was way too small, even for one like my

Julian, I get your points ...

and indeed the original ones are small. Still think my father (and others) had great taste when he/they went for that very special pieces. Maybe you should try one with cal. 240. That´s what I did yesterday ... ... and it was quite tempting. Even the RG with brown dial, not my favorite in the beginning, looked very nice. But maybe not for everyday ... and not with every outfit. Cheers, Oliver
