Clueless_Collector initiates a compelling visual comparison between Patek Philippe's Caliber 240 and Caliber 324, inviting the WatchProSite community to weigh in on their aesthetic and functional preferences. This discussion delves into the nuanced engineering choices behind these iconic movements, offering valuable insights for collectors considering the micro-rotor versus full-size rotor designs. Clueless_Collector's personal observations and excellent photography set the stage for a detailed exploration of winding efficiency and power reserve.

I only wish the power reserve can be higher than 35 for some of their watches and I see they are working on that as witnessed by the new 6119s. Thanks for the input Ed.
I was very avtive for hours yesterday and yet my power reserve indicator on the 240 caliber didn't go up hardly at all! I really like micro rotors, but goodness, they're just not great winders.
You have a 5712 or 5085? I know my 5960 PR indicator stays full steam whenever I wear it, it winds well.
Yes, the 5960 seems to wind very efficiently. After half a day of wearing, a 5960 seems to recharge fully. The 5960 is a great piece. Big and sporty. The 5712 is beautifully thin and delicate. But that winding seems to be very inefficient as well!
making an imprint on the skin, lol....maybe should go for the SS version, while there are still about equal in "value", not the black dial, of course.
