Sometimes, you need a gentle reminder to make you feel how great is a watch, and how high it can be in your wish list.

The 3417 Amagnetic is one of them.

Why? Simple! I consider it as one of the three greatest amagnetic watches ever made. For me, a top amagnetic watch must have a manual winding movement. Which is the case of the two other legends, the Omega Railmaster and the Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysic, which I am very happy to own.

So, in my list, I only miss this Patek 3417.

And some weeks ago, I could take new pictures of one I know, which is in one of my friend's collection.

Here it is.

The only thing which bugs me is that I never saw this crown on a 3417, which is, moreover, unsigned...

For the rest, it is a pure beauty.

A macho case and lugs. A timeless dial...

Its amagnetic dustcover, and screw-in case back.

And the wonderful Cal 27 AM 400.

Yes, the kind of watch which would make me considering letting several go to fund it!

Best,

Nicolas

This is just the crown which bugs me a bit... and then letting some watches go to be able to buy it. IF I am convincing enough with its owner... ;) [nt]

Ok, this one has the original crown...

Now ask for the price and tell us then which watches you are willing to let go! ;-)

And I would have to send it to Patek to change the crown ( if it is ever possible )... [nt]
