It´s predecessor is the 5127 and I would like to compare them. The case is only 2mm bigger. The dial, the hands and the date look similar. But the indexes are different , there is only one at 12 and the crown protector s are gone. Anything else? Yes, look at the side view of the 5227 . It is still slim and totally different at the same time. Almost "aggresive", "sexy" ... but for sure not boring at all. One of my favorite details is the invisibly hinged caseback. I think the crown guard made the 5127 appear less "generic". I'm disappointed to see it go. I'm also disappointed with Patek's pricing... It's going up and up, without justification beyond marketing. $37,300 list price for a simple Calatrava? Are you kidding me? In any sane market it would be worth half that.
