Forum member saintseiyaikki recently rediscovered a beloved Panerai, only to find its leather strap had deteriorated. This common issue, particularly with older straps, sparks a vital discussion among collectors about strap longevity, quality, and the aftermarket options available. The thread offers practical advice and historical context for Paneristi facing similar challenges.

I will find a leather company to glue it or stitch it next week, a new one cannot match my aged and scratched case 🤭
Easy to fix with some glue or just go aftermarket for a proper strap where the buckle end is sewn in on the inside of the strap, as it should.
I don't think I have that physical strength...
I've had some that came apart on the side, I had a couple like yours. It is only recently (5 to 6 years) that Panerai improved the straps quality. A great majority of Panerai owners, take off the original strap, leave it in the box and buy themselves aftermarket products, which are definetly cheaper and mostly of pretty good quality. Cheers
