I am a recent Panerai convert but a long time lover of Bordeaux reds. I think there is a parallel between the direction that Panerai is taking and where Bordeaux has been heading. Panerai is moving upscale and away from its historical market. Many of the new watches such as the Radiomir Tourbillons, the Ceramic 317, and the Radiomir Titanium (309 and 322) are very, very expensive. Even a basic watch such as the 26 is approaching $10k. These are watches that are at a price point that is far diffe

You lost! AT said 5 sentences maximum! LOLOLOL But I can't agree more about what you said on the 309/322...Very well put, as about Panerai in general... As for Bordeaux wines, even if not qalified to speak about them as an expert ( sad for a French Guy...LOL), I alaways thought that Bordeaux Wines were high end wines... I really have to perfect my knowledge on this point... Best. Nicolas

I) I do not like the way that they name 26 SE again, they can named as XXX/SE (re-production). However, I really love all destro piece and still really need another 26SE collect to my collection. II) I like 322 but price is too cost for Panerai's Collector like me, this price supposed to be PP's price. Hopefully, anyway......I got the call from AD once they launch. III) I like 317 but 317 supposed to be SE even they will produce around 2,000pcs for 3 years. Normal, production line make me lose c

And now what I thought of this year's line up: It seems the consensual issue this year is that of pricing and historical lineage of movement. Further to this was the use of a new bracelet design but all was overshadowed by the historical Radiomirs. It seems 2008 was the year of Radiomirs, coinciding with the end of production runs of the Special Editions 232 and 249, with the last batches delivered to ADs around the world. The 292 'J' series became instant Limited Editions when the 'pig' was rem

Interesting read, thanks. What is the difference between the two please? Is the DLC more durable? "confounded many and fueled my fear that Panerai is starting to test the market again with a new marketing strategy" Please elaborate on this, how are they testing the market with the 26? Many thanks and best regards, Mat This message has been edited by MatNic on 2008-05-01 10:31:34

It is a 5 sentence minimum post, not maximum. (See below.) As I wrote it late last night before I went to bed, I thought I had misread the instructions. Phew! To qualify for this competition, you must write a 5-sentence minimum post to this thread. Feel free to include pictures in your post Bordeaux, at least high-end Bordeaux, has always been expensive but the prices have really spiralled out of control over the past few years. I bought some of the first growths in 2004, which is an average yea
