I have another strap on order, as select members suggested, as part of my effort to better connect with my 587.  But I wore it briefly today to gauge my feelings after a period of time away from it.  For full disclosure, I was also recently came close to also purchasing a 673, but I was concerned it would be much too similar to my 372.

In final analysis, I’ll probably stick with the 587.  Just waiting on new strap, and looking to wear more often.  Thanks for looking.

About the Panerai Ref. 673

The Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Marina Militare Acciaio, reference PAM00673, is a special edition that pays homage to historical Panerai designs. Thank you very much for that 🙏🏼

At the same time, I’m curious if you (and the others) are a fan of the Panerai crown protector, or don’t care either way? I like both case styles, but for some reason I keep wondering whether the MM is more ‘authentic’ on a 1950s case.

The "original" Marina Militare....

appeared on a 6152/1 case which....for the non initiated, is known as the 1940 one. So technically, your 587 is more "authentic" than the 673 and the 1950 cases in general Picture obtained on Internet. Copyrights reserved for the rightful owner.
