Rnaden shares his experience with the Panerai PAM512, a watch he initially hesitated to wear due to prevailing opinions about Panerai's size. His post celebrates the joy of finally embracing a watch that perfectly suits his smaller wrist, challenging the 'go big or go home' mentality often associated with the brand.

Sergio kind of encouraged me to start wearing this one. Truth is I liked it when it was launched, got it almost exactly a year ago when visiting Watches & Wonders. After that, it stayed in the bank for a long time, mainly because of a lot of comments that it was too small for a Panerai. Of course, my wrist is small, and this one fits perfectly, but here in Malaysia and even neighboring Singapore, it's common sight to see large watches on small wrists, so my subconscious kept it in storage.

I have to say a big thank you to you, Sergio!

Now that it's out, I'm enjoying it and am left wondering why I didn't listen to the little voices in my head earlier. Hard watch to photograph due to the lack of AR on the crystal, and I didn't have time to get the "light dome", but sharing some pictures here. Intending to enjoy this for the next two weeks at least.

About the Panerai Radiomir 1940 Ref. PAM512

The Panerai Radiomir 1940 PAM512 represents a distinct interpretation of the Radiomir design, characterized by its more robust 1940-style case. This reference offers a refined and more compact option within the Radiomir collection, appealing to collectors who appreciate the brand's heritage but prefer a smaller case dimension. It maintains the core aesthetic principles of the Radiomir line while introducing subtle differences in case construction that set it apart from earlier wire-lug models.

This model features a 42mm polished steel case, providing a balanced presence on the wrist. It is equipped with the in-house Panerai Calibre P.999, a hand-wound mechanical movement known for its slim profile and reliable performance. The watch is fitted with a 1.6mm sapphire crystal and offers a water resistance of 100 meters. The movement provides a power reserve of 60 hours.

The PAM512 is particularly relevant for collectors seeking a Radiomir with a contemporary wearability while still honoring the historical design language. Its 42mm size makes it a versatile choice, bridging the gap between larger Panerai models and more traditionally sized watches. It appeals to those who value the brand's distinctive design in a more understated form factor.

Thanks Nico.

Sometimes it takes the convincing of fellow purists to cement that notion. That\'s what makes this community my favorite one.

Well said. But don't worry, the most important is that you feel good with your watch. [nt]

You weren't jocking about having a small wrist.

You give the 512 the chance to...shine. Per se, dimensions aside, the 512 IS a rather handsome model. There, now I've said it...hahahaha
