My son and I got a chance to squeeze a short dive earlier today, it had been longer than I remembered, almost three years since we last dove together, I would have said one or two at most, I suspect that's what time does to all of us. As an unintended result, many more areas to document in the pre-dive papers, especially after fifty, thanks for making me feel old!
Anyway, let's dive straight into it, pun intended with the banner shot, my trusty pam25:

Today's dive was not particularly challenging other than limited visibility and strong currents at time, but things calmed down below 10 meters. Most of the shots were taking in the 8-12m range.

In no particular order....

If you check carefully there is a fish in there:

Crabs playing between the two rocks:

The most common sight was fishes such as the below, I think it may be a black drummer or rock black fish:

A predator lurking in the dark, look for the white teeth:

Because Japan, a boxfish a.k.a fugu:

My son being followed by a rockfish. I suspect many dive instructors must be giving them treats, as they were following us like pets:

Hint, there's a fish hiding in there:

My son with our instructor:

A black seabream going on with its business:

A stone bream bombing my photoshoot:

Today's goal was to find a Japanese bullhead shark, luck was on our side:

Boxfish close-up:

more rockfish:

This shot sums up today's mood, I felt like we were treated to a seaweed buffet:

More rockfish, I told you!

And one final wrist shot for the day, thanks for joining!

Awesome!

Lots of cool ocean life, the watch looks great! Where were you diving? I only got my open watch certification this past spring. I've got to get back out there while I still remember what I learned!

Same here to be honest

Amazing how quickly you can forget stuff without regular practice, we did a refresher course and our instructor was great. Dive was in Izu south of Tokyo.
