Nicolas (amanico) shares his enduring admiration for the Panerai Mare Nostrum PAM 8, a watch that holds a special place in his collecting journey as one of the first Panerai models he encountered over two decades ago. His appreciation highlights the watch's distinctive bi-compax chronograph design and its characterful presence, particularly noting its relatively smaller 42mm case size within the Panerai lineage. This article delves into why this specific reference continues to captivate collectors.

I always loved the Mare Nostrum. This is the first Panerai I saw in the real some... 22 years ago. Time flies.

I love this bi-compax chrono with a lot of character.

One of the rare small Panerai ( 42 mm ) I really appreciate.

Best,

Nicolas

"Gente di mare" from Umberto Tozzi always comes to my mind, when I hear "Mare nostrum"

Umberto Tozzi wrote also "Gloria", a song that LAURA BRiNAGAN covered in a spectacular way! She covered also "Ti amo", also an Umberto Tozzi classic, but in English! Aaah, Laura Brenigan ... "You take my selfcontol!" Sorry, we were talking watches, didn't we πŸ€”

A Panerai I like a lot but don't often see. Thanks for posting. [nt]

We should more often see it, indeed. Not the most emblematic, but not the less charming! [nt]
