Asimut takes readers on a nostalgic journey back to 1998, sharing rare catalog pages of Officine Panerai watches and their original pricing. This post offers a unique glimpse into the brand's offerings and market value from over a decade ago, providing context for how Panerai's appeal and pricing have evolved. Collectors can compare historical prices of iconic models like the Mare trio, Destro, and PVD watches.

And following Nico's 97 catalog post, I thought I would pitch in with some pricing ideas....

First the wonderful Mare trio :

Then some Destro Love:

Anyone for a PVD with change from 3K?

Some contemporary madness:

And for the Grand Finale - I'll take 4 of these please!

Hope you all enjoyed this very rare catalog!

Cheers,

Asi

Things are not that easy...LOL Asi is just, and the old school guys Asi, me and some others , are a bit, let's say, amazed, to stay politically correct, to see how things came in a crazy way with this brand... Demand/supply, yes. Marketting, too. Panerai strong image, also. And also, the ...madness of some people ready to pay 4, 5 or 10 times the retail to get one... Even Patek is wiser... Funny, amazing, and a bit sad... Best. Nicolas

Please don't take what I am about to say as arrogant or cavalier. The prices that you are seeing now are still fairly "cheap" compared to what is out there. I just purchased a 249 and 232 for $15K. These are two "hot" watches and they are a relative bargain. I have a high end collection, Patek, Lange, Richard Mille. The Panerai brand is a bargain compared to the other products. I was offered a PP 5712A from my AD because he knew that I have a history of purchasing from them and that I do not fli

"If you want your Roadsters or Tanks, you need to carry at least 5 Panerai" trick on the Cartier Authorise Dealers. Heck, I found an old receipt for my 118 which I purchases in 2003 for AUD3,200 plus I got the 10% GST back!!! Factor in the stronger USD back then and I think I got a pretty good buy Gaz This message has been edited by Gaz on 2008-03-24 05:42:38
