Arie - Mr Orange challenges the WatchProSite community with "The One Watch Duration Contest," a test of horological monogamy. This article explores the community's diverse reactions to the challenge, from enthusiastic participation to outright skepticism, revealing the deep personal connections collectors have with their watches and collections. It highlights how a seemingly simple premise can spark profound discussions about watch ownership and personal endurance.

"The One Watch Duration Contest". Hereafter named "The Contest".

So this contest will be very simple. 1 watch. 1 wrist. No changing of watches. Ever. If you switch watches you are out of the contest. There is only one exception: inside a watch shop you will be on neutral turf.

I will start the contest on February 1th. If you are brave enough to participate in this ordeal you will reply in the thread of The Contest with the confirmation that you "are in" combined with a picture of your watch of choice. Perhaps with a short explanation why you think you will last longer than all other PuristS with that particular watch. The moment that you have changed watches you will post so with the words "i'm out" combined with a picture of the 'forbidden fruit'.

Who will be the strongest Purist mentally?
Who will cave in before 48 hours have passed?
Who will bond with his watch like never before?
Who will discover new characteristics of himself and his watch?
Who will find everlasting glory?

The big question for us all will be:

See you on Feb 1th. If you dare!

This post is for awareness only and to contemplate which watch to pick!

As this will require a lot of thought and careful planning.

I'm out.

No way I last more than 24 hours.

I am a weak, weak little man.

A monogamist in real life, but a completely promiscuous whore in watch life.

Challenge yourself because

You do not stand alone in this! We are all very weak concerning watches....
