A small step for a man but a big leap for Humankind as described by American Astronaut Neil Armstrong.

I can well remember viewing this most Great accomplishment for Humankind in the small B&W screen of our TV set seated by my Dad in the first hours of that day.

We were alone at home as my mother and sister were vacationing far from home in those days. I was a young 21 years old fan of photography and took lots of pictures from the TV screen with my then brand new Pentax Spotmatic.

I can’t remember how many prints I had to make at my bathroom dark room to fulfill all the requests of friends and work companions!

Dad and me felt we were privileged to view something historical and of great importance and consequences for future generations.

I’m sure I’ll never forget that magical moment!

Here my homage to those three brave men: Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin through a few of the watch they carried: the Omega Speedmaster.

I wonder many of our friends here have witnessed the Moon Landing?

All the best! Abel

The newspaper didn’t have (a) man ....never ending debate on this sentence...haha.

I was not even in my mom’s womb when this moon landing happened but I can feel the excitement of the whole world.

Thank you Raymond! True, it was a thrilling experience on its day. Not so easy to understand today by young people accustomed to present ...

... day development of communications, computers and cell phones. It was really a Big Accomplishment considering the technical level of those days in comparison with present ones and an heroic participation of those early astronauts accepting the challenge and dangers involved. Regarding the famous "letter a" debate, I read somewhere that it was demonstrated around year 2006 that what Mr. Armstrong said he said was true: using a sophisticated computer program the complete sentence could be heard

Thank you so much dear Nicolas. There are many pieces of my collection missing in this post. I really love this watch and its relation...

... With space race and an epoch I lived as a youngster. Though my collection is far from that of some collectors like our dear friend HSTE it gives a lot of pleasure to own and wear them. I am glad you like it and thank you for your kind comments! Abrazos amigo mio! Abel
