Just because I am madly in love with this one, which is, in my opinion, one of the nicest vintage diving watch.

Just because it's been 14 months I sent it for a service, with a few others.

Just because I deeply miss it.

Funny how we feel the love for a watch when it is away...

Actually, I am quite happy to see that it is in some expert hands, and it will be such an excitement to see it again after all these months!

During its absence, I am starting to wonder if I will not dig a bit more into the Seamaster Diving History and try to find some more...

A - 7 Lollipop, for example, a 14755, the ref which came after, and, why not, a Ploprof, to end in beauty?

Anyone else had this Madness in mind?

Best,

Nicolas

About the Omega Speedmaster Ref. CK2998

The Omega CK2998 is a chronograph model recognized for its robust design and functional aesthetic. It belongs to a lineage of chronographs that established a distinct visual identity for the brand, characterized by a clear and legible dial layout. This reference is notable for its early adoption of a tachymeter scale on the bezel, a feature that would become a hallmark of many subsequent sports chronographs.

This reference features a 39 mm stainless steel case, housing the manual-winding Caliber 321. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The watch is fitted with a Hesalite crystal and offers a water resistance of 60 meters. The fixed tachymeter bezel is a key design element, framing a black dial.

The CK2998 holds interest for collectors seeking early examples of Omega's chronograph development. Its design elements, including the case proportions and dial configuration, represent a significant period in the brand's history. The presence of the Caliber 321 further enhances its appeal among enthusiasts of vintage chronograph movements.

CK 2913 / 2914 / 2915? That is another way to go into the Vintage Omega World... Add a nice 33.3 Chronograph, a 2777, a 2042, a nice Connie, and a manual winding Chronometer, and you are done! ;) Best, Joe. Nicolas

I see it somewhat differently..... 2913 lollipop or otherwise is something I must get. 2914....well, that is somewhat sorted, but i have to say I may dig deeper on the 2914.

There was a ref just after the 2914, which shares the same case, but with a slightly different dial. Interesting! Best, Nicolas
