That when omega says 50 they really mean "you can dive to 50" with this, instead of "this is a dress watch don't swim with it" I'm going to speculate here that the failure point might be the case and not any gaskets, as they might have made the back thinner for the alarm volume, and 1000 bar is a lot of pressure. Then again, it does have a lot of pushers... In any case, I clean mine by putting it under tap water. No problems (so far)...
