TheMadDruid recounts a successful NYC PuristS Get-Together (GTG) from April 2018, highlighting the community's vibrant spirit and the opportunity to view rare modern and vintage timepieces. This post captures the essence of watch collecting as a social activity, fostering new friendships and allowing enthusiasts to share their passion. The event also included an exclusive visit to Phillips Auction House, showcasing independent watchmakers.
We had a good turn-out for our GTG this past Saturday. Got to pass around some interesting and rare pieces, both modern and vintage.
Really nice was that some PuristS showed up that aren't regular posters and so a lot of new friendships started up.

The Yellow Gold Dato is very rare and seldom seen. Stunning on this bracelet.

One of several Svend Andersens that appeared.
This is 1950s Citizen mechanical movement. Quite cool.
After the "official" meeting-up, most of us went over to Phillips Auction House where we were guided through an exhibit of Independent watchmakers' pieces. Some were very special. You'll have to take my word for it as the battery of my camera decided to die before getting even one shot. Maybe some others have something to post.
At Phillips we were joined by some other PuristS who couldn't make lunch. But it looks like NYC will be a successful GTG city in the future. All in all it was a lot of fun.
Special thanks go to Anthony Tsai for arranging the trip to Phillips and the exhibit there.
