Patrickh shares his firsthand impressions of N.H. Calabrese's "Kronos" timepiece, offering a detailed look at its unique design and innovative features. This article delves into the artistry and mechanical ingenuity that define Vincent Calabrese's work, capturing the essence of an independent watchmaker's vision.
My 2d part:
I had the pleasure to meet Vincent and to discover in the metal his new creation “Kronos”.
Vincent wore his N°1/100 model:

11H 26mn 22 sec
Did you notice the elegant way to represent each minute marker between 26 min and 34 min?
9 indexes replaced by 9 letters of the Master: C A L A B R E S E.
Another Great idea from this ingenuous watchmaker.
And on my wrist:

11 H 22 min 07 sec
Have a look at the sand-glass representing the second hand (and the time of course). It is a very thin plate to respect the accuracy of the watch and also it is interesting to note the shadow created by the sun light.

The case (40mm x 11.8mm) is very comfortable on my wrist and Vincent had chosen the light-medium brown strap to match with the hair coloration of the young lady / sand glass support and also the sickle stick.
The central dial rotation gives LIFE to the painting. I LOVE this concept and the jumping hour does not mask the work done by/with Shinji HIMENO.
To really understand the accuracy and the high performance from this specific calibre created by Vincent, here is the video on YouTube:

The retrograde movement is allowed and does not disturb at all the mechanism. Congratulations Mr CALABRESE.
I also had the pleasure to take a photo of Evelyne and Vincent together.
Evelyne had her “Ottica” and Vincent his “Night & Day”

The “Ottica” is a very BEST seller of the NHC collection with its specific reflection due to the UNIQUE designed sapphire.
3 photos to explain this innovative offer:

The dial seems disappear under some angulations/positions.

I like this case design masculine and the mix of straight lines and curves ones.
Vincent created this case in 2004 on the occasion of the birth of NHC. It has respected its usual characteristics of tri-body horn: 4 horns giving 12 parts as the 12 hours.
Another strap color presented during Basel 2017. Thanks for this photo taken by a very good friend A.H.

The calibre could be seen under a sapphire case back, showing a special rotor decoration representing NHC, the Limited Edition N° /100 and the Name of Shinji HIMENO.
Vincent had chosen, since 1988, the calibre ETA 2892 as it is well known by reputable watchmakers that this calibre is very accurate, has a higher amplitude and is extremely reliable up to 36 hours even if the total power reserve is about 42h. Additionally, the automatic mecanism is thin 3.60 mm and nicely decorated. A great choice, to add the specific module (wandering hours) created by Vincent CALABRESE. The total height is only 0.80 mm more.

To finish this 2d part a photo of Evelyne and Vincent with a background photo of Manhattan.

I wish them a huge World Wide success.
I hope you still enjoy to learn more about Vincent CALABRESE creations.
Stay tune for the 3d part.
Cheers,
Patrickh
I've been a great admirer of VC for a long time and am seriously considering the Chronos as my next acquisition. I own a Vincent Calabrese Transworld - which is a gem to wear (completely independent 2nd time zone which can be set to ANY TIME), all functions controlled by the crown. Handmade "distressed silver dial"'as well. A lovely piece of ingenuity. Cheers
Pleased to read that VC lovers follow this Great Watchmaker who created so many specific and usefull models. You should enjoy his last creation: "KRONOS", the Titan God of Time. Best, Patrickh
This dial seems almost alive. That's really incredible. I can't imagine how it looks in the metal. Best wishes Alkiro
and see it in the metal. A real painting on wrist and from a real Japaneese artist Shinji HIMENO. More to discover in my 3d part (later) ;-)) Best my friend, Patrickh
Now, I'm waiting for your third part Pat. Ok, this one was really easy Best wishes Alkiro
Very interesting indeed, whether with the Chronos or the Ottica dial. Not only the watches are great and quite innovative, but also Vincent Calabrese is a gentleman. Quite glad for you my friend, enjoy it and wear it in very good health. Mike
