Friends:
- I'm writing this little post- intro on behalf of my dear wife,
who wanted to share some of her tic-tacs here, but preferred
not yet to have registered an ID for her :
Thus, here is her text:
" Hello, everybody !
After having read Pingtsai's recent long, but lovely article about spouses of
PuristS or/ and watch aficionados, I felt understood but also adressed in a
humoristic, and well observed way..
I have been following in part the WS activities, ( which my husband hs111
sometimes shares in part also with me) & sometimes showing me a beautiful pic;
from one post or another..
Thereby I got to see so many magnificant watches, many I have never heard about, nor seen
before.
It was already a surprise when Art ( aka Dr No) had asked me to ' judge'
in one of the last WristShot weeks.
It has been an (exciting) little exercise to get tuned into the tonality of this Forum
( I did like the motto: ".. like on a cocktail party")
and to better understand some of the aspects of the watch passion,
many of you share, and even more, live as a hobby, and mostly as a pretty intense one.
Secondly, I vividly remember back the fabulous IGOTT2 meeting in Las Vegas, where
I had the chance to co- participate, again as hs's spouse.
I witnessed some of the intensity, almost frenziness, when pieces were shared,
wristshots were done.
A number of similiar looking watches, together with all kind of brands
were photographed in many directions, adjusted, admired ; this,
until a huge Table-shot was achieved, & something I had never seen before, was the result..
- Hilarious fun for everybody !!
In addition, I had the privilege to get to know several PuristS in person, also among them,
your/ our Nicolas here,( with his lovely wife).
Nico, who is a special character of his own : always witty, well read & travelled, always
on the move and an expert in humor AND many a timepiece, I understood;
- Even more so, I do appreciate his role as a facilitator, mediator, expert, moderator
and watch ' insider', but most important of all,
- as a person, with the magic touch to give and share so much with his friends,
meanwhile being a friend to so many here and elsewhere.
- My husband's passion is no exception, and the little trips into our both beloved City of Paris,
also to see his friends, is something, my good hs is always looking forward to...
Guess, I 'll stop here to explain & " justify" my writing of these lines, but I
thought the background for today's coming out by me is explained, at least a bit..
Let me finally say : I am neither a collector, nor an expert, nor do I own overly
expensive or very rare watches, but I do like to look at interesting designs,
and pieces of small but sophisticated ' essence', and watches fall into that category.
Not to further delay things with my dwellings, I have decided to just share 3 to 4 of my watches,
watches that share a common denominator , in that they are pieces near to me..
The first one is a " simple " one, an Omega Constellation ss/ YG ; she will always be near
to me as she was passed on to me as heirloom after my late mother.
I still remember, when my father ( late, as well) and I had been selecting this one for a " round" mother's birthday ..

Omega Constellation.. A trustworthy Girl
- I love this watch: not too much bling, always there, fitting and matching to almost any
occasion, when doing sports (like skiing or sailing), when meeting friends
for a casual dinner, etc .
She is my ' girl' for everything, never has failed, and she is precious to me..
The second one, is completely different, it was my first JLC, a Reverso Classique (ss/YG),
which my husband has presented to me for a birthday, some 20 years ago, which is pretty
long ago , but also rather long before his watch passion took off :
- this one obviously is near to me, being a present by him. I also always was loving the Reverso style, iconic but modest, with a lovely appeal on the wrist, and also representing the most favourite brand & collection interest of my husband..

Reverso Classique in ss/YG
The third one, happened in 2011, when we were doing a trip through Europe,
visiting among other cities, Amsterdam and Paris :
- In fact, my hs had wanted to look into a specific watch store, he knew from their website;
when it turned out, that this very store, was just opposite our hotel; thus it was an easy task
to browse through the store:
It turned out, we both were successful: a nice little Omega bumper two- tone dresswatch from
the 40ies for hs, and I was indeed really lucky even more:
When my husband saw one beautiful JLC Vintage, after inspection it turned out,
as a very well preserved E 159, with Radium numbers, and a lovely greenish patina.
So we both would be happy : when putting on this first Vintage JLC watch for me,
she always keeps reminding us on a beautiful trip through Europe
Here a little collage ( where hs helped a bit to manipulate the pics):

My only Vintage JLC - E 159
Guess, I'd rather stop here: although there is at least a nice one to mention, actually
a nice Rolex, but I'll leave this for possibly another (shorter, LoL) post by hs..
Here just one quick picture, from one of my newer loves ( Rolex Datejust, Tuxedo Dial),
also a gift, namely a Xmas present from my husband, hs..

Rolex Datejust with Tuxedo dial & 'Roulette' date
( In regards to other timepieces: Well, there are just a bit more for me, for some dressy watches,
typical for a lady to accumulate over the years, such as small Cartiers, Baume et Mercier or else)...
Hope, my lengthy report did not bore you ; my watches, no wonder, no big deals,
but all those three to four pieces, will stay near to me, and therefore, these
are precious to me..,
Best regards to all,
rws56 ( spouse to hs111) "
============end============
Well, there is not much for me to say or to add,
- Wishing you all a great remaining week !
Best, hs
PS : just helped a little bit, to upload the pics,
once rws had identified them...
