Early last year, I fell down the rabbit hole of Swiss micro brands. I had heard of AquaStar before but didn’t realize the full gravity of their offerings until I acquired a WONDERFUL pre owned Benthos Heritage II in the black colorway. Especially for those with fairer wrist sizes, some griped the Heritage I case was a bit too large / thick. Honestly I’m beginning to tire of 42 + mm dive watches with 50 + mm L2L measurements that are also 14-15 mm thick… Enter the Heritage II re-edition. Get ready for these dimensions: 40 x 11.9 x 45 mm! Talk about PERFECT fit and wearability on my 7 inch wrist! I’ve observed it wears more like a 38.5 or 39 mm. The black H II has since moved on. But not before I promised myself I’d order the one I’ve always been keen on - The Blue Edition! When I inquired with AquaStar today, they offered me a 15% off coupon. They also confirmed they’d cover duties, tariffs and taxes - so that sealed the deal! Happy to say I just placed my order with a projected shipping date in March! I have NO doubts the wait will be worth it , as this model really evokes emotion for me. Notice the addicting skin-diver-shaped case, solid case back with cool brand logo, the gorgeous blue colorway, no date, minimal dial text, and overall uber funky vintage vibes. Character, soul and charm 😍 AquaStar is a brand that is doing everything right! 💥 👏🏻👏🏻 I ordered on the eye-pleasing BOR bracelet, but already know this is a strap monster and looks amazing on tropic, canvas, sailcloth, etc. Here are some pics from AquaStar.com. As for value, it doesn’t get much better than this! 👍🏻 Will be sure to update my Friends when it lands in a couple months 🍻

About the Aquastar Benthos

Aquastar's modern resurrection has brought fresh attention to a brand that carved its niche in professional diving instruments during the 1960s and 1970s. The original Aquastar gained recognition among saturation divers and commercial diving operations, establishing credentials in extreme underwater environments. This contemporary Benthos H2 represents the brand's effort to bridge its historical diving heritage with modern collector sensibilities, maintaining the robust functionality that defined the original pieces.

The Benthos H2 showcases a purposeful design language centered on legibility and tool watch functionality. The deep blue dial and matching unidirectional bezel create visual cohesion while the applied luminous markers ensure underwater readability. The case construction appears engineered for serious diving applications, with a crown guard system and substantial proportions that suggest significant water resistance capabilities. The orange seconds hand provides a functional accent that enhances timing precision during dive operations.

As a modern interpretation of vintage diving watch principles, the Benthos H2 occupies an interesting position in today's crowded dive watch market. Aquastar's revival targets collectors seeking alternatives to mainstream Swiss diving watches, offering historical legitimacy without the premium pricing of established luxury brands. The success of this positioning depends largely on execution quality and the brand's ability to maintain consistent availability, factors that will ultimately determine whether this modern Aquastar chapter achieves lasting market recognition.

What a lovely diver.

Well done Aquastar. Both beautiful but I'd go black because blue is somewhat trendy.

If you look closely at the black option

The ONLY thing I didn’t like about that version is the brownish color of the bezel numerals and squares on the dial, when the hands lume and rehaut indicators are white . A clash I couldn’t quite get by. The blue is all matching white and looks extremely fresh and crisp 👌🏻Thanks for your reply
