Jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) shares his experience with the Montblanc Villeret Chronograph Grand Feu Enamel, a timepiece he finds challenging to photograph due to its lack of anti-reflective coating and hunter case back. His post highlights the beauty of this rarely seen watch, despite the photographic difficulties. This article explores why some watches, despite their inherent beauty, prove elusive to capture through a lens.

a joy to have it on my wrist again smile

Some shots I took yesterday. Truth be told - this watch is not photogenic at all without professional equipment and light boxes. No anti reflective coating on the sapphire glass makes it extremely hard to capture the sheen of the oven fired black enamel. It will be too much reflection from light or too dark to see the dial on pictures.

Also, the hunter case back blocks so much light it is tough to capture the movement nicely .

Anyway some casual shots I took:

And a movement shot I took some time back (I rejected all those I took yesterday as somehow I couldn’t get the lighting right).

Overall, a watch I like but not one I like to photograph lol

Cheers

OK. I can forgive you for not wearing it for some time.😁

But you can always take it out and just admire its beauty. That's good enough for me.👍
