This article explores why this particular chronograph holds an iconic status within Montblanc's collection, inviting collectors to appreciate its unique design and horological significance. Amanico's perspective encourages a deeper look into a watch that stands out in a crowded market.

Here is a chronograph we should more often discuss, the Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph Anniversary Edition.

For the originality of its dial,

And for its nice looking and pleasantly decorated movement:

And, should I say, it is one of the iconic pieces from Montblanc, in my opinion. As this is a chronograph you immediately notice and recognize.

How many of us own one?

Best,

Nicolas

A beautiful watch that I almost bought. What bothered and stopped me was that I couldn't read the minutes between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. exactly. But I’ve seen a wonderful iteration that looks similar classy where this “problem” seems to be solved.

Scoping the Rieussecs for awhile. I am not a typical guy what i see i must immediately own. That department is only by watches where my jaws drops directly and the dealer, AD, grey, is reachable, and the risk somebody else buy the watch is high. But that said, the Rieussecs are interesting chronographs which have a kind of beauty i see not very often. It are not rare peaces, and i will inspect some if i see them at watch shops. For the price it is not necessary to not strap one on my wrist. I li

with a different way of registering the elapsed time. I find myself being drawn to quirky/ novel ways of doing something differently. I came very close to pulling the trigger on one of these when I was in the market for a new chrono, only to settle for a GO Panograph in steel which imo was just a little better finished off on the movement front. I cannot rule out getting one in the future though, although it would have to be one of the more 'classically' designed pieces like the one in the image

We now have four Rolexes in the family: Pearlmaster in WG for my wife Airking for my son DD40 in WG and Rolex Deepsea 126660 for me That’s enough at the moment. Now it‘s time for a different brand (Blancpain FF for example 😊)

Really like how this is uniquely Montblanc. Anyone can tell it’s a Montblanc on the wrist even from a distance.
