About the Montblanc Heritage

The return of Minerva branding to Montblanc dials represents a significant acknowledgment of horological heritage within the Richemont portfolio. Since Montblanc's acquisition of the legendary Minerva manufacture in 2006, the Swiss brand has carefully stewarded this 19th-century movement maker's legacy, primarily through high-end chronographs and complications. This Heritage model marks a broader integration of the Minerva name, suggesting Montblanc's confidence in expanding the historic brand's contemporary relevance.

The dial architecture demonstrates classical proportions with a prominent subsidiary seconds register and applied golden indices that complement the fluted bezel construction. The guilloche pattern work across the dial surface shows varying textures that create depth and visual interest, while the leaf-style hands maintain period-appropriate styling. The two-tone case construction balances precious metal accents with practical steel, positioning this piece within accessible luxury territory rather than haute horlogerie exclusivity.

This release signals Montblanc's strategic positioning of Minerva as a sub-brand rather than merely a movement supplier, potentially expanding collector interest beyond chronograph specialists. The contemporary market has shown increasing appreciation for heritage-driven narratives, particularly when backed by genuine manufacturing provenance. For collectors, this represents an entry point into Minerva's legacy without the premium typically associated with limited chronograph productions, though long-term collectibility will depend on production numbers and market reception of the dual-branding strategy.

I'm sure many will be happy to see the name back on the dial.

I'm not sure I feel attracted to the Crownless design, but the architecture of the M15.08 caliber is very beautiful. Best, Emmanuel

Like the Ulysse Nardin Freak, the bezel is used to set the time. I love this idea, I just wish they went for a monochromatic watch...

The crown is part of the watch history. For me as well - there is simply something missing!
