Mj23 recounts his unexpected journey to acquire the highly sought-after Montblanc Minerva Chronograph in stainless steel. This post highlights the thrill of the chase in watch collecting, demonstrating how persistence and a bit of luck, combined with excellent boutique service, can lead to securing a seemingly unavailable timepiece. It underscores the passion collectors have for specific movements and limited editions.

I am just completely speechless(still cannot believe it) to be able to acquire this marvelous piece a year after it's announced.

I was very interested in this watch when it was announced last year. So I tried to ask around and was told that it's no longer available. It could also be that since I never bought any Montblanc before, it's a standard answer to be told this way. So I was really disappointed and I gave up any hope for it. Then work got really busy and it just went to the back log on my mind even though I still read various posts about this watch on this forum from time to time.

With the Bronze version being announced for 2017, it got me totally excited again. So I went to the local boutique to inquire about the Bronze version and tried to put my name on it. Then I remember I noticed on the forum that a few are still waiting for their stainless steel pieces to arrive, I just figured it doesn't hurt to ask about it and I did. Again, I was told the same that it's impossible to get it. However, this time, the manager told me she'd just ask for me as she also said it doesn't hurt to ask. With some sort of miracle, "16 hours" later, I got a call from the manager telling me that she might be able to get one for me because a client at another location might not confirm the order. What's even more amazing is that she was able to have the watch shipped overnight to the store for me to see it in person first(never seen it in person either).

So today, I got a call from the boutique that the watch has arrived for me to see it. And the rest is history!!! I am really thankful for the boutique staff to make this happen all within less than "ONE" week.

I'd like to thank so many owners on this forum sharing their experiences/feedback about this watch and it's served as a strong confirmation to me that this watch is a truly masterpiece. I can also officially say that I've got "Bitten" by Vlads on this forum that made me want to get this watch even more. smile .

I've been longing for a Minerva Chrono and it's come true!

Congratulations!

I also love the bronze version. Out of my reach at this time, but I am very pleased you got your steel one. Well done! Brilliant effort from the boutique too.

Yea for sure mate!

You definitely made the right choice. You can go wrong with steel at all. I think you\'ll really enjoy this one!
