MB&F and Reuge have relaunched their Music Machine space ship!

I'll keep this short, as most of you readers are very familiar with the MB&F lineup.  The Music Machine 1 Reloaded is a new machine that plays music.  Like the three previous Music Machines before it, this one again looks like a sleek space craft from the future or from a galaxy far away.  This spaceship plays six different songs on two different barrels;

Port Cylinder plays:
1.  Star Wars Main Theme
2.  Imperial March Star Wars Theme
3.  Star Trek Theme

Starboard Cylinder plays:
1.  Another Brick In the Wall by Pink Floyd
2.  Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple
3.  Imagine by John Lennon

Here is a video:

Each of these songs are played on a 72 note comb!  And each cylinder takes roughly 35 seconds to make one complete rotation, thus each song takes about 35 seconds.  The cylinder has three staggered positions, so three different songs can be played on it.  After playing each song, the mechanism shifts to the next position.  So a total of three songs fit on one cylinder.

The work of art is limited to 99 pieces; 33 in each color, black, blue, and red.  Price is 18,500 CHF!  Steep price!  But don't make the mistake I made of not buying one quickly enough!

Also, do note, the device appears to come with a soundboard that isn't pictured in any of the photos.  From my personal experience, this resonant soundboard really helps transmit the sound so it can fill a full room!

Which color is your favorite?

Ok big question, did you order one?😉

I love it but it’s far too delicate around my household. My kids would have it in pieces in about 3..2..1 seconds!

I have not. But that's because I'm running out of room!

I've got way too many coffee table books, not enough coffee tables. Way too many books, not enough bookshelves. And too many clocks and toys like these to find adequate room to display them! Two more fairly large clocks incoming! And some really nice crystal decanters that need some room on the buffet or in the hutch! Maybe you can put this on a high shelf in your office or in your garage where the kids won't play with it?

A work of Art. It’s a shame they don’t make more of these at a lower price point.

Sadly!

But if you think about it... It's really low income to everyone. I estimate that MB&F will only get a very small portion, probably 15% to 19% of the total revenue generated from the 99 clients who buy the piece.

A work of Art indeed

But I can't be the only one that thinks something this beautiful needs to used more often then just offering 6x35 second plays. I would love to see this design used for a full on Music player that houses an slot for a USB stick or even memory card reader that than transmits the music from it to bluetooth speakers or maybe it is just me. Either way its is stunning IMHO. Marc
