Cozmopak, a discerning collector, recently acquired a stunning salmon perpetual MB&F from their classic line. Now, he's contemplating a trade for an Evo variant, citing improved durability and water resistance as key motivators for his wet climate and desire for a sportier option. His query invites the WatchProSite community to weigh in on the nuanced decision between these two exceptional horological machines.

I recently acquired a stunning salmon perpetual MB&F.  This is among their classic line of watches, with a more traditional case design.

I have recently wondered whether I should trade it for an Evo variant of the watch, mainly for its improved durability and water resistance.  I live in a rather wet climate.  Also, I don't currently own a sporty watch, and so it would add some diversity to my collection.

Anyone care to share thoughts/opinions?  Obviously, there is no right answer here.

Two fast recent moves in a row ???

Perhaps a pause is best? Did the Classic come from a dealer, and if so, have you discussed this with them?

Hmmm... The post says....

"I recently acquired a stunning salmon perpetual MB&F.... I have recently wondered whether I should trade it for an Evo variant of the watch". You do make a good point, how long is one recent to the next recent? Am sure your AD can help. The added waterproofness of the Evo is very appealing 👍

Different vibes, different love

but if you think the durability and WR are of your major concern then trade it. In my eyes they are stunning enough for me to have both as a subcollection if I were you .

Honestly, I think it comes down to aesthetics…

Are you really going to swim with the watch on? Otherwise wear long sleeves if it’s raining. I truly love them both, but I think the salmon dial is probably a bit more wearable.. I would consider owning both of them.

I am not sure you won't regret it, mon ami. And in case of doubts... How much is the water resistance on yours versus the new one?
