It has got also a Martin Braun complication: a sunset und sunrise display that can be individualised (not fix, like usually). However, maybe Mr Braun got rich by selling this patent? Best Moritz
... I would have no problem at all. In fact, all that is truly required is to give credit when credit is due. These days, the bigger companies - be it Swatch to Richemont or Apple to Google - behave in a way to suggest it is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Or to put it another way, these massive, cash rich, lawyer laden conglomerates would rather tie a little guy up in court until he/she is bankrupt than to do the right thing and pay for the right to use an idea not of
legally Will you say all other brands making Tourbillons stole from Breguet or making Annual Calendars copy from Patek? It's so hard nowadays when many brands can make many complications. Also when watch makers job hop to another brand, skills and know-how transferred. Same problem with car models, so much resemblance. Rgds Raymond
... Any brand making a tourbillon has stolen from Breguet. But here's a key difference: Everyone knows Breguet invented the tourbillon. But not everyone knows it was Thomas Mudge, an English Horologist, who actually invented the Annual Calendar around 1755 or thereabouts. Patek filed a patent for its Perpetual Calendar in 1889, which provided a mechanism for the immediate jump of days, dates, months and lunar phases. That said, it is true Patek was awarded a patent for its Annual Calendar watch
