In a special milestone post, Jari from Finland reflects on his journey through the world of horology and the vibrant community he discovered online. His 1000th contribution to WatchProSite offers a personal glimpse into the camaraderie and shared passion that define watch collecting, highlighting the unique connections forged through this intricate hobby. Jari's post underscores the enduring value of community in an increasingly digital age, showcasing the friendships and experiences that enrich the pursuit of horological excellence.

I have been interested in watches as long as I remember. Several years I thought that
I would have been the only one before I found watch information and watch discussion
groups in the internet. Over these years I have met many great guys among this
hobby and several of them have become very good friend of mine.
I was digging through pictures I have taken in the watch meetings when we
have gathered with some friends to talk about watches and naturally many other
topics which includes in the normal life. I chose some pictures to attach them to this post.

This is normal when some watch guys meet each other.

Finnish watch manufacturer Jurmo. I have visited at their workshop.

Sarpaneva. The watch belongs to a friend of mine.

Voutilainen. This watch belongs to a friend of mine.

Finnish watch manufacturer De Motu.

De Motu has a nice special design on their watch box.

Thanks for watching my milestone
my 1000th post.

From 2008 at WPS, i was back in the time crazy about watches, but not active at watch communities online at all. I had i belief one nylon quartz watch which i wore always. When the battery was empty, i replaced always the battery. When my nylon watch finally worn out, i bought a Seiko. I had a Baume & Mercier from my older brother, but that watch lost and i miss it so badly, it made me to tears i lost that marvel. My community name here is not right, i can better change it to Baume Mercier for e
