Ivan5, a collector known for his preference for manually wound, no-date timepieces, recently shared two new acquisitions that defy his usual inclinations. This post offers a unique opportunity to explore how even the most discerning collectors can be swayed by exceptional design and horological merit. His selections spark a discussion on the thoughtful integration of automatic movements and date complications in high-horology pieces.

...with the Lange being my favorite. In each case the date is done right...a feature not an afterthought. In the case of the Lange, an automatic movement is far more convenient, especially as it is very slim. Fantastic pieces, with my nod going to the Saxonia AC.
My apologies for a confusion ;-0
...it's sometimes difficult to see who is replying to whom...
I’m a big fan of Journe but in this specific case I lean towards the Lange. In large part due to the position of the date window.
ALS annual for me. Once I feel comfortable in PM watch that is what I will target. Enjoy!
I was smitten once I saw it in its metal and an instant love it was..😊 Thanks
