MichaelC's enthusiastic review of the Airain Type 20 highlights how a watch's aesthetic details and overall feel can transcend price point, making it a 'grand slam' for the collector. His initial post sparked a discussion among WatchProSite members about the subjective value and unexpected pleasures found in well-executed timepieces, regardless of their cost compared to haute horlogerie.

My favorite part other than overall design is the lack of weight, very refreshing, it almost feels like titanium. I am still on the fence about the hands, I find them too difficult to find in the dial, the white hands on my sinn 103 are easier to find at a glance.
Still, I love the size of both. Too many watches short the hour hand, I like the longer style used here.
Let's be honest, nearly 3k is still a very expensive watch, and most people will never spend so much. But of course around these parts, the watch is a bargain. For me, I can see enjoying it as much as pieces that cost over 10x what this one does.
Very cool watch Michael
I can see this pairing well with many options.
