Patrick_y celebrates the birthday of Ludovic Ballouard, a watchmaker renowned for his whimsical yet serious approach to time display. This article delves into Ballouard's distinguished career, from his foundational work at F.P. Journe to establishing his independent brand, highlighting why his unique personality and horological skill resonate deeply within the collector community.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite watchmakers, Monsieur Ludovic Ballouard!  He's always charming, always smiling, and always a bright personality!  Ludovic Ballouard was one of the top watchmakers at F.P. Journe, assembling some of the most complex pieces by F.P. Journe (including the F.P. Journe Grand Sonnerie), before he set off and created his own brand.  He likes to display time in a non-traditional whimsical way, that's both as serious, as it is playful.

Having met Ludovic Ballouard and his lovely spouse many times, in many cities, all over the world, I can confidently say, he is one of the most pleasant personalities (and perhaps more importantly, one of the most capable watchmakers in the world) in the watchmaking industry!

Wishing you all my best to you and your family!

Such a charming and witty man! And a great team with his equally charming partner. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him at the AHCI exhibition during Watches and Wonders week. I love the meteorite upside down that you have shown here too. Happy Birthday to an interesting and inspiring gentleman!
