For the occasion of last Fridays lunar eclipse Louis Moinet introduced its newest limited edition model, the Memoris Red Eclipse.

The Observatory of Neuchâtel is the perfect venue for this presention. Built in 1911 with it's observatory telescope from Karl Zeiss the observatory is decorated in the typical style the the region of this time the "Style Sapin". This decoration style was developed by Charles L'Eplattenier in La Chaux-de-Fonds. L'Eplattenier was one of Le Courbussier's influential teachers.

The Louis Moinet Memoris is a chrongraph with the entire chrono mechanism visible on the dial. The model Red Eclipse disctinguishes itself with it's red enamel and gold leaf rotor decoration and the engraved case, the work of two weeks of hand engraving.

The event was well attended and included a guided visit of the observatory. Unfortunately the cloud covered sky didn't allow us to see the eclipse.
