Nicolas (amanico) shares his passion for the Lotus 7, a vehicle celebrated for its raw driving experience and enduring legacy through Caterham. His post highlights the car's minimalist design and the pure, unfiltered sensations it delivers, even recounting a memorable, albeit chilly, two-week driving experience with a modern Caterham iteration. This article delves into why the Lotus 7 continues to captivate enthusiasts, exploring its cultural impact and the unique joy it brings to drivers.

After the " Avengers " and Mrs Peel's Lotus Elan, James Bond's Esprit, here we have " The Prisoner " Lotus 7 which survived in our modern days thanks to Catheram and the Super Seven.

A fantastic car, super light, giving some superb sensations. I had the pleasure to drive the Catheram modern iteration for two weeks, I will never forget these moments, despite the big cold I had just after ( it was in February... wink  )

I even burnt my calf because of the side exhaust, but it was with great pleasure. smile  smile  smile

Most probably my favorite Lotus.

Best,

Nicolas

Yup, that‘s a driver‘s dream car reduced to the max! The perfect weekend match to a day by day full electric car ;-)

There is a visceral sensation with base, open wheel motoring. The air, the noise, the vibration, the view, the ability to feel you are alive!! Above is a dream car along with: 289 Cobra Morgan 3-Wheeler As always, ymmv. -John

And *you* actually drive the car (not computers). Excellent post and glad you had a great time. As for burning yourself on the hot exhaust, that's part of the initiation my friend ;-)
